Villach’s “Radbutler” Bike Butler can be found directly on the Drauradweg (R1) in the town centre of Villach (under the Drau bridge/Bahnhofstrasse). In the previous season they safely looked after 1,000 bicycles while their owners toured the town centre and provided useful tips as well. The four trained bike butlers and specialists in tourism also passed on town maps and information about the region. By the way: The R1 Drauradweg received five stars in 2016 – the highest European quality award for cycle paths. The cycle route along the banks of the largest river in Carinthia also reflects the Alps-Adriatic way of thinking – because it leads from Villach via the Gail cycle path to Italy and further along the River Drau to Marburg/Maribor in Slovenia. Numerous Drau cycle path inns make sure you don’t go hungry on the R1.
