Single trails are the icing on the cake. At least for mountain bikers! There are so many attractive downhill trails to get excited about in Carinthia, Austria’s southernmost province.
Whether by bike up to grass-green summits, which reward you with wonderful distant views, around bathing lakes of pure, potable water, which glitter in the warm summer sun, or equipped with a headlamp through the interior of mountains – in Carinthia passionate mountain bikers will find many varied routes amidst unspoilt countryside. Since 2015, Carinthia, or more exactly the Petzen mountain, has been home to the world’s longest (11 kilometre) Flow Country Trail. Cross-border tours are also commonplace in the area around Villach or on Nassfeld. Trails of up to 1,000 vertical metres can also be found at Lake Millstätter See and Lake Weissensee.
